Page 1 of 4 Created in 1956 by Roger BELLOT initially at Sauveterre-de-Guyenne (Gironde France) and later relocated to Talence (suburbs of Bordeaux Gironde France), the BELLOT company has been designing and manufacturing vinification products for 50 years.
In 1956, BELLOT develops aseptic bung 56, specifically adapted for winemaking vats that are being emptied. In parallel, BELLOT develops a wide range of sealing covers for wine vats. These revolutionary sealing covers are made of PVC and stainless steel, a concept never matched yet. They have had, from the beginning, an aseptic valve in their centre. These light, rigid, practical, and easily cleaned sealing covers are fully adapted for wine maturation in vats.
From their first appearance, these sealing covers have received high praise from the winemaking community, both winery owners and oenologists. These wine vat sealing covers incorporate, today, all advantages required from this type of material.
In 1963, BELLOT continues its development and invents aseptic bungs 63 and hydraulic bungs 63. Two principles that allow maintaining the wine in vats that are completely full.
In these same years, BELLOT develops complete vinification units, and offers the first self-emptying vats to its clients. These vats are made under license by MIROIR.
Dozens of vinification facilities are launched during those years with the BELLOT name, and are still operating today.
